Welcome to the estate

Welcome

If you’re new to Agecroft, first things first – a very warm welcome to you. We’re a really friendly bunch and despite being a fairly large estate we foster the ‘village’ feel.

As and when you see others out and about feel free to introduce yourself – you’ll find that most of us are more than happy to stop, chat and help out with any directions or other advice you might need.

Need to Knows

For newcomers, here’s a few of the basic ‘need to knows’ to help you get started with everyday life at Agecroft:

Bin Day

Bin day is a Friday with some of the trucks collecting as early as 7am, so best to get the bins in situ last thing on a Thursday night. Some of our cul-de-sacs aren’t easily accessible for the bin lorries, so if you have moved into one of these, it’s a good idea to have a chat with your neighbour to find out exactly where you should put your bin/s for collection.

Bus Services

There are bus stops just outside the estate for local services along the Agecroft Road and if you want to go further afield a brisk walk up the hill toward Henry Boddington’s will get you the the stops for the No. 8 service. The No 8 runs from Bolton to Manchester city centre every 10 minutes, so with this service and the other local ones, hopefully you’ll find you’re well connected to the places you want to get to.

For further information on bus times and other transport options here’s a link to the Transport for Greater Manchester site Plan My Journey.

Estate Photo Gallery

Here is a collection of photographs of the estate that have been supplied by estate residents. If you’d like any of your photos to appear here, just email us.
